Judge David Campbell Chapter, TSDAR And Buffalo Valley Unite For Projects At Patriot's Place

Wednesday, October 11, 2017

Regent Stacy Kehoe of the Judge David Campbell, TSDAR organized a planting session for Sept. 19 at the newly developed Patriot’s Place on Veteran Way.

Buffalo Valley, Inc. case manager John O’Rourke and his wife Andi Frances O’Rourke, members of the United States Naval Sea Cadet Corps, and leaders and members of the community-at-large joined forces to plant eight crepe myrtle trees and dozens of plants after building four plant beds.

Some of the community members cleaned the inside of four homes to have them ready for occupancy.

Over sixty bags of mulch were donated in partial by HomeDepot, with the other half donated by DeMaria's Home Improvements and Property Maintenance. A special grant from HomeDepot provided all of the plants, trees and materials required to complete the project.

Residents at Patriot’s Place on Veterans Way are for homeless, disabled veterans and their family members.

"It is with great pride and a humble spirit that we all were here to participate in completing this task," a volunteer said.
