Temporary Staffing Contract Deceit

What in the name of the Lindsay Street Cartel has the city cooked up with this new resolution for contract services for a company to provide temporary employees?

 

Let me understand this. The city of Chattanooga has a company that has provided temporary staffing for 11 years with no complaints, and this company has a long and successful track record in our community since 1995.

 

The city of Chattanooga under Mayor Berke then advertises for bids, and devises a new internal procurement scoring policy that does not offer strong weighted measures for experience, staff knowledge, and company financials.  

 

Yes, that is right, experience, staff knowledge, and financials, not as important. That is an interesting procurement and business concept. Perhaps the City Council could explain that scoring process to the taxpayer more. We want to know more about that. Sounds very interesting.

 

I cannot think of any business or enterprise of any kind that advertises for goods or services, and selects on the most marginal attributes. The city has set a new bar. Experience and track record are indeed the most important measure of a company. 

 

The MSI selection is not about facts, but political hacks. That is obvious. Someone is working very hard to find them a place in government, whether they are qualified are not. 

 

If I am following this story correctly, the city of Chattanooga's Cartel Procurement Division then decides that the company that has served the city for 11 years with an excellent track record should be reduced in scope of service, and the work given to another company with absolutely no experience in temporary staffing, no business financials because they just formed, and a shady history.

 

What a tangled web of procurement deceit the city has in play.

 

This company MSI and its principals have no financial history for their temporary staffing company as I understand, none, zero, nada, nothing. Yet, they are seemingly about to land a municipal contract with no experience and no track record.

 

I think someone pointed to minority status of the business. Well guess what, a company still must know the business of temporary staffing and have a track record of success.  

 

As a property owner in the city of Chattanooga, please City Council explain why you would allow the wasteful use of public money with the facts of this case.   This is very offensive to treat a qualified company in this manner.
